Glossary of Terms

Opaque Bag: High-color opaque density; nontransparent (e.g., black, white, blue, etc.).

Amber: Protects light-sensitive products from ultraviolet light, which can cause damage and/or reduce product's proficiency. Meets USP 66.1 XXII specification.

Antistatic: Protects sensitive electronics from damage caused by the harmful effects of static electricity. Manufactured to meet MIL-81750C. (standard is pink, other colors are available)

Tint: Color added to film; transparent.

Slip Additive: Reduces clinging between layers of poly (added to all poly bags).

Antitarnish: Neutralizes corrosive gases that attack silver, platinum and gold.

Metallocene: Modified blends for film performance enhancement.

EVA: Modified blends for film performance enhancement.

Color Line^TM: a trademark of Minigrip

Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE): Modified blends for film performance enhancement.

Zipper Opening Force: When the consumer opens the zipper, reduced force is needed. The inside force, however, is increased to ensure the zipper does not open from the weight of the product packaged inside.

Mil: Refers to the thickness of a poly bag. Ranging from 2 mil, 4 mil, and 6 mil
